Wedding photography in Amsterdam at Ruigoord. Somewhere remote between Haarlem and Amsterdam you’ll find a remote and artistic village Ruigoord. This is where Mark & Lorenzo finally got get married after 2 years photographed by Melissa !
Ruigoord as wedding venue
The church of Ruigoord became the venue of these grooms. They wanted to do everything in their own way and they surely did. Dressed in a costum made Indian style suits, they were getting ready for their ceremony. As I said before, this couple did everything in their own way, as so their wedding time. They got married in the evening, with an amazing dance party and shared dining.
Getting ready at Ruigoord
I encountered the men during getting ready in their amazing Indian suits. It took a lot of patience getting dressed with al of these brackets which needed to be pinned, so I helped them out for a bit. Yep, this is where the personal assistant Melissa shows up. Can’t help it.
The ambiance was there, Mark & Lorenzo were very excited. They have been waiting for this moment for 18 months after they had to postponements it twice.
The couple were warmly welcomed by their family. Even the grandparents made it to attend this special wedding. Mark was also very thankful for his parents to attend their wedding too. As his mum was very poorly. The love they showed was intens and overwelming.
Small portrait session in the surroundings of Ruigoord
I wanted to create some images of the couple, so I took them for a small portrait session in the surroundings of Ruigoord. There was a beautiful sunset which I really wanted to photograph. As a small portrait session this shoot took me just 15 minutes. It was a great time for the Mark & Lorenzo to get them at ease and enjoy their time together. I did gave them some directions, but overall I let them enjoy their time together. So this casual photoshoot went by quickly with a beautiful sunset as a huge gift.
Ceremony
I’ll never forget this ceremony. With cheering guests and amazing loud music, Mark & Lorenzo arrived at the ceremony like real celebrities. De ceremonie was er een om nooit meer te vergeten! Met overweldigend muziek en luid gejoel werden Mark &
Josina was their wedding ceremony speaker, I really love her vibe! She made the couples day with her spontaneity, humour and lovely speech! Also one of the best friends and Marks father spoke some words towards the couple.
I always tend to get a bit emotional during speeches, because of the lovely words they’re saying. I’m so happy to capture these moments but also to hide at the back of my camera once it hits me emotionally.
Smashing party at Ruigoord
At the end of the ceremony Rihanna – We found love was played out loud and the just married couple danced through the crowd. The party started and everyone started to dance and having fun. The ambiance was amazing that it instantley cheered my up too. The DJ knew how to entertain every guests with his set of music. Because everyone had such a great time and enjoying themselves and the just married couple, I knew this was a really special wedding. The connection Mark & Lorenzo have with each of the guests is amazing.
Even one of guests photographed me, like I was one of them. And I’m so pleased with this image, which I use as a profile picture for every Social Media. This image shows me who I am and the positive vibe I got from this wedding!
